Favorite Place in the World

Benton Station is a nice little slice of a town – less than 300 people – located in California, just west of the Nevada border. Seven miles west of Benton on a fun, undulating portion of California 120 – a mostly deserted road with unobstructed views all around – you’ll come upon two towering structures. These bouldered mountains stand out starkly against the flat, brushy landscape. The journey up the top of the westernmost structure is my favorite place in the world.

It’s worth checking out if you go by there again! It’s actually close to the highest mountain in Nevada (Boundary Peak) and not too far from the highest mountain in California (Whitney). If you’re interested, i’ll give you an exact latitude and longitude. You can’t miss it though. It’s spectacular!
