Blood Bank Procedures

The following are some common procedures performed in blood bank. These are my own procedures – not nessarily reflecting the work performed at any particular laboratory. I’ve boiled the tests down to the essential elements necessary to getting the job done safely. I would love to hear your feedback and suggestions for  improvement!

Gel Crossmatch

Tube Crossmatch

Gel Antibody Identification

Direct Antiglobulin Test (DAT)

Weak D

Elution

Cord Blood Test

Hi, this is my first time being here and visiting the website. I’ve read some reviews on it and it seams a good source for helpful information. I’ll try to read everything here. Plz, if there is any
recommendations I’d be happy to hear it from you. Currently, I’m preparing for my AMT exam but I failed ASCP before and I’m no longer eligible for rout 1, so the AMT is my only hope and maybe will have the AAB MT too in the future then will have the ASCP at last. Thanks.
